A Busy August Weekend at Christ Church
Christ Church is truly an example of a parish that's full of life, with events and gatherings happening for all ages. This weekend, August 17-18, is one filled with gatherings that are sure to nourish everyone.
Join Us at the Center for Spiritual Nourishment
This Saturday from 8:30 to 12 noon
Christ Church's August session of the Center for Spiritual Nourishment takes place this Saturday morning, August 17th from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon, and everyone is invited to gather with us. The CSN provides opportunities for spiritual growth for Christ Church members and the larger community by offering an array of experiences that engage the mind, body, and spirit. Programs on Contemplative Christianity, Spiritual Direction, Thin Spaces & Liminal Places, Trauma & Spirituality, and a healing liturgy will be on offer, as well as a film screening of The Case for a Creator, which tells the story of atheist-turned-Christian author, Lee Strobel. You can find more details about CSN on our website, and if you have any questions or wish to help in the future, please email us at csn@christchurchcolumbia.org.
MOCC Monthly Breakfast
Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
Everyone's gotta eat, so why not join us for breakfast this Saturday, August 17th? We'll gather at 9:30 a.m. for great food and even better conversation and fellowship at IHOP at 8825 Centre Park Dr, Columbia, MD 21045. People of all ages are welcome.
Cycling for Health and Fellowship
Saturday Morning at 9:00 a.m.
The CEC cycling group welcomes everyone to join us for one final summer ride this Saturday, August 17th at 9 a.m. We gather in the New Brick parking lot for a safe and enjoyable trip around parts of Columbia, so bring your helmet and bike and join us for a morning of exercise and fellowship. If interested, please email cycling@christchurchcolumbia.org and let us know, so we don't leave without you! You can learn more at www.christchurchcolumbia.org/health.
Blood Pressure and Pharmacist Consults at Church
This Sunday at 9:00
To provide health and wellness services to parishioners of all ages, the CEC Health Ministry provides blood pressure checks and 1-to-1 private consults with a licensed pharmacist this Sunday, August 18th. Come to the Elevator Room in New Brick from 9:00-9:30 a.m., and bring any of your medications you want to discuss or any other questions you might have. If you can't make it that day, place "BP/Meds Check at Church" on your calendar on the 3rd Sunday of every month at 9 a.m., or regularly check the website's Parish Calendar for the next one.
Pentecost XIII : Sunday Worship at Christ Church
8:00 and 10:30 a.m.
Christ Church's summer worship schedule has two services, and both take place in the New Brick sanctuary, so gather with us at either 8:00 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Marcia Davenport leads us in worship at both services, and parishioner Leah Chrest delivers today's sermon.
In Between Sunday Services, Help Us Reimagine Christ Church
9:00 a.m. in the Great Hall of New Brick
Our Reimagining Christ Church group meetings continue in August, and we hope that you'll join us to brainstorm ideas and reimagine what Christ Church could and should be - especially as we approach our 300th anniversary. Our next public, in-person gathering is after the 8:00 service this Sunday at approximately 9:00 a.m.
