Maundy Thursday at Christ Church
Maundy Thursday
Thursday, March 28th
5:00 p.m. Seder meal in New Brick
7:00 p.m. Eucharist in New Brick, with foot-washing and stripping of Altar
9:00 p.m. Vigil in Old Brick
On Maundy Thursday, we recount the story of Jesus sharing his last meal with his friends. That same night, he went out to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray. His friends, being weary, slept as Jesus prayed. Despite Jesus inviting them to stay awhile, the friends couldn’t help themselves. The Christian observance of the Seder meal celebrates our tradition of Christ's last supper, and so on Maundy Thursday, we hold a potluck before our service in New Brick. Please visit the Seder Meal sign-up sheet link to bring something for this communal meal.
We also remember that night with a Vigil in Old Brick following the Maundy Thursday service. The Vigil will run from 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28th until noon the next day, March 29th. During each hour, we invite two parishioners to participate in the Vigil by signing up for a time slot of your choosing. Visit the Vigil sign-up here, and you're welcome to sign up for just an hour, or a couple of hours. For more information, please contact Fr. Manny.
If you wish to worship with us this evening but cannot do so in person, please join us virtually via our livestream below. You can use the service leaflet here.
